The impact of supply chain risk management on the performance of the organization

"Lafi Ayadah Lafi Daghaman presented his research on the impact of supply chain risk management on the performance of the organization at the celebration of Gate Academy in May.
Introduction:
Modern supply chains resemble biological systems in their complexities and mutual dependencies. With the spread of pandemics, restrictions on the export of medical supplies extended from a few locations to almost the entire world. This situation poses threats to food trade, such as restrictions on rice exports imposed by Vietnam in March and the closure of many meatpacking plants in America after the virus spread among workers. These challenges create a crisis in food supply chains that billions of people rely on.
We are currently witnessing unprecedented changes in the business and global trade landscape, coupled with continuous technological innovation and rapidly changing customer expectations. The best supply chain strategies today call for an operating model based on demand, capable of successfully integrating people, processes, and technologies to deliver goods and services with unprecedented speed and accuracy. While supply chain management (SCM) systems have always been a fundamental foundation, supply chains now play a more vital role than ever as an indicator of business success. Companies that can effectively manage their supply chains to adapt to the constantly changing and technology-driven business environment are the ones that will continue to thrive. As supply chains branch out and become more diversified, the risks increase. The study examines the impact of supply chain risks on the organization's or company's performance.
Research Problem:
Contemporary organizations face numerous challenges and difficulties amid contemporary environmental changes. Considering that a company cannot effectively compete in isolation from its suppliers or other entities in the supply chain, supply chain risk management becomes one of the crucial measures taken by any company or organization to identify, monitor, and mitigate threats.
Hence, the main question for the study is: "What is the impact of supply chain risks on the performance of the organization?"
Several sub-questions arise from this main question:
- What is meant by supply chains?
- What are the objectives of the supply chain?
- What are the risks of the supply chain?
- How are supply chain risks managed?
- What is meant by performance?
- What are the performance indicators?
- What is the importance of performance evaluation?
Importance of the Study:
Scientific Importance: This study can be considered a source for researchers and scientists seeking to learn more about the impact of supply chain risks on company performance. This study may serve as a starting point for researchers and enthusiasts to conduct further research in this field.
Practical Importance: The study may yield results that can contribute to providing recommendations and suggestions for officials within companies or institutions to help them and provide solutions to minimize supply chain risks on companies.
Study Objectives:
The study aims to understand the impact of supply chain risks on company performance through several key objectives, including:
1. Define supply chains and their objectives.
2. Identify supply chain risks.
3. Attempt to find methods to mitigate supply chain risks.
4. Understand the concept of performance.
5. Identify performance determinants.
6. Recognize the importance of performance evaluation.
